Our Strategic Partners

  • The Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare & Sport
The Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport is responsible for public health, health care, quality of life, social work and sport. The Ministry was created in 1951 as the “Ministry of Social Affairs and Health” and had several name changes before it became the “Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport” in 1994. The Ministry has two ministers, a Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport: Mr. Ernst Kuipers and a Minister Minister for Long-term Care and Sport: Mrs. Conny Helder. State secretary is Mr. Maarten van Ooijen. The Dutch Ministry has initiated this multi-annual programme on elderly care and is the commissioning partner. Mr. Nico Schiettekatte, Counselor for Health, Welfare and Sports at the Dutch embassy in Beijing is closely involved in this programme and main contact of the Dutch Ministry for this programme.

  • Task Force Health Care (TFHC)
The Task Force Health Care (TFHC) is the executive partner of the programme. TFHC is the Dutch platform for the Dutch Life Sciences & Health sector since 1996. Our not-for-profit platform supports Dutch companies, NGOs, knowledge institutions, healthcare providers and governments to realize their international ambitions. We actively represent the interests of the Dutch LSH sector to the Dutch government. For China, this has resulted in being designated as the executive partner of the MoU signed between the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) and the Dutch Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport. Recently, TFHC coordinated several public-private programmes on elderly care in China.

  • Vilans
Vilans is the National Centre of Expertise for Long-term Care in the Netherlands. Vilans engages in innovation, research and development, dissemination, and implementation of good practices in the field of elderly care. Its wide knowledge and network in the elderly care sector, in particular the publicly funded, not-for-profit organizations contributes to the aim of the project strengthening the Sino-Dutch exchange and cooperation in the field of elderly- and long-term care. Its expertise ranges from nursing to (para)medical and psychosocial interventions, assistive technology, eHealth, quality management, organization development and improvement, integrated care, large scale implementation, policy development and evaluation, and international developments in long-term care. A particular field of interest in all these domains is dementia care and – currently – Covid-19 care in long-term care settings.
