The next steps in Sino-Duch cooperation elderly care
On Monday, Nico Schiettekatte 史明康, our Counsellor for Health, Welfare and Sports met with Mr. Ding Kai, Director of the Division of International Cooperation Promotion International Cooperation Center of National Development and Reform Commission of China. The meeting was organised to further exchange ideas about the next steps in Sino-Dutch cooperation in elderly care.
The two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Beijing in May 2019. Thanks to joint efforts with Task Force Health Care, the first group of 15 Dutch institutions and companies have now joined hands, and are prepared to carry out and deepen their cooperation with their Chinese counterparts.
The information of the 15 Dutch institutions and companies has been compiled into a colourful booklet. The first copy of the Chinese edition of this booklet was handed over to Director Ding Kai after the meeting. In this booklet, the Dutch organisations present their expertise in technological innovations, education and training, and new concepts for elderly care.
China and the Netherlands have been working together in elderly care for over 20 years already. This booklet marks an important milestone in both widening and deepening this strong relationship.
The work plan
The work plan of the cooperation in 2022 was also discussed in the meeting. China and the Netherlands share similar challenges in elderly care and will be working on common solutions in the years to come.
